A Scottish health chief says the best way to show your mum you care this Mother’s Day is by keeping “her safe”.
Professor Jason Leitch, the Scottish government’s national clinical director, has issued a few top tips in the fight against the spread of coronavirus.
- If you have symptoms or your household is self-isolating, don’t visit.
- The best way to mark Mother’s Day this year would be by phone or online, particularly for those mums over 70 or with underlying health conditions. See if you can get the family together for the first group chat.
- If you have to visit, wash your hands when you arrive, walk to a seat and chat and connect, stay as long as you like and even go for a walk before washing your hands as you leave. Your mum should also wash her hands after you leave and after opening any gifts or shopping.
