Another four people have died with coronavirus in Scotland, Nicola Sturgeon has confirmed.
It takes the death toll among confirmed coronavirus cases to 2476, although counting presumed Covid deaths the total if 4098.
The deaths follow a 48-hour period where Scotland recorded zero fatalities from the virus.
Speaking at the Scottish Government’s daily briefing, the First Minister also said 12 new cases of Covid-19 had been reported in the last 24 hours.
She said the new deaths showed the continued “human cost” of the virus, but also highlighted the progress made in tackling the pandemic.
Sturgeon said hospital admissions for Covid are in single figures per day, and added that “at no point” was the NHS overwhelmed during the crisis.
