Hospitals are currently treating more than 1200 people for Covid-19, including 98 in intensive care.

Six more people have died after testing positive for coronavirus in Scotland.

The death toll under this measure – of people who first tested positive for the virus within the previous 28 days – is now 3286.

There were 717 new cases of Covid-19 detected over the past 24 hours, a lower than expected figure, even accounting for the weekend when the tally is usually smaller.

A total of 1227 people are currently in hospital, including 98 in intensive care wards, the First Minister Nicola Sturgeon said at her daily briefing.

A total of 82,011 people have tested positive in Scotland, up from 81,294 the previous day.

Of the new cases, 220 are in Greater Glasgow and Clyde, 136 in Lanarkshire, and 101 in Lothian.
