The First Minister has announced she is self-isolating after being identified as a close contact of someone who tested positive for Covid-19.
Nicola Sturgeon took to social media to give the update stating she will stay indoors until she receives her PCR test result.
She wrote: “I’ve had notification tonight that I’ve been identified as a close contact of someone who is positive for Covid.
“Accordingly, and in line with the rules, I’ll be self-isolating pending a PCR test result.
“My thanks to all the contact tracers working so hard in NHS Test & Protect.”
It comes after Scotland recorded another record number of new coronavirus cases, with 7113 people testing positive for the first time.
It is the fourth time in a week the record for new infections has been broken, as the Scottish Government warned the situation is “fragile” and said further restrictions could not be ruled out.
