Michael Gove is under investigation by the UK Parliament’s standards watchdog.
The levelling up secretary is facing a probe over his register of financial interests.
The commissioner for standards said the investigation relates to paragraph 14 of the MPs’ code of conduct.
The paragraph states: “Members shall fulfil conscientiously the requirements of the house in respect of the registration of interests in the Register of Members’ Financial Interests.
“They shall always be open and frank in drawing attention to any relevant interest in any proceeding of the house or its committees, and in any communications with ministers, members, public officials or public office holders.”
More information is expected to be released once the investigation has finished.
Gove has served in various government roles and has been the levelling up, housing and communities secretary since 2022.
He was born in Aberdeen but has been the MP for Surrey Heath since 2005.
