Anas Sarwar says only Scottish Labour can “boot a rotten and decaying Tory party out of power.”
He spoke in South Lanarkshire on Saturday about Labour’s proposed “first steps” in government including setting up Great British Energy, a proposed publicly-owned clean power company.
Labour leader Sir Keir Starmer said the plan would bring “tens of thousands of new jobs” to Scotland if a base was built for the company.
Sarwar added a Labour government would aim to create jobs for young people by improving access to apprenticeships and supporting first-time buyers.
Sarwar said: “It is clearer by the day that only Scottish Labour is able to deliver the change we need and boot this rotten and decaying Tory party out of power.
“The Tories have nothing to offer Scots but more failure, sleaze and hardship.
“This election is an opportunity for change that Scotland cannot afford to miss.
“Scottish Labour is ambitious for Scotland and has a clear plan including economic stability, cutting NHS waiting times, turning on GB energy, delivering jobs and apprenticeships, making work pay and maximising Scotland’s influence.
“This is the change that is on the ballot paper at this election.
“This is Scotland’s chance to boot out the Tories and deliver the change we need – let’s take that chance together.”
