A woman and a teenage boy have been charged after fireworks were thrown at police during Halloween “riots” in Dundee.

Police said a 28-year-old woman and a 15-year-old boy had been charged with mobbing and rioting offences following the incidents in the Kirkton area on October 31.

They are both expected to appear before Dundee Sheriff Court on Friday.

Two 16-year-old boys have also been reported to the Procurator Fiscal following the disorder.

Chief superintendent Phil Davison said: “We are still following positive lines of enquiries to identify others involved in this disorder and expect to make further arrests.

“I am still appealing to anyone with any information about the incident to call 101.”

He previously said: “We know how distressing the disorder seen in Kirkton on Monday evening was for the local community.

“I want to reassure people that we are continuing to investigate a number of crimes committed during the evening and I fully expect others to be identified and charged as this work progresses.”
