Three charged after heroin worth £25k found in cross-border operation

The drugs operation in Aberdeen and Merseyside also uncovered a significant amount of cutting agent.

Three men have been arrested and charged after heroin worth £25,000 was recovered in Aberdeen and Liverpool.

Police carried out a County Lines drug operation in Aberdeen and Merseyside on Wednesday where the drugs along with a significant quantity of cutting agent were recovered.

Three men, all in the Merseyside area, were later traced in the Provost Fraser Drive area of Aberdeen.

The men, aged 21, 23, and 25, have all been arrested and charged in connection to drugs offences.

They are due to appear before Aberdeen Sheriff Court on Thursday.

Detective sergeant Sam Harris, of North East Division CID, said: “I would like to thank our colleagues at Merseyside Police for their assistance in this investigation.

“This operation underlines our commitment to the Serious Organised Crime Taskforce and the country’s Serious Organised Crime Strategy.

“Police Scotland is committed to using every tool and tactic at our disposal to disrupt those involved in operating and profiting from the sale of illegal and harmful substances.

“We will continue to tackle the exploitation of vulnerable members of our communities in the north east of Scotland.

“We rely on information from the public to help target our activities. If anyone has any concerns regarding the abuse of controlled drugs or those who may be involved in the supply of controlled drugs, contact Police on 101.
