A man who raped two schoolgirls has been jailed for six years.

Robbie Lynch preyed on his victims at properties in Dundee between November 2014 and 2019.

The 23-year-old earlier attempted to sexually assault one of the girls with intent to rape.

Court papers state Lynch initially attacked a third girl at a property in Dundee between November and December 2014.

Lynch touched the legs of the 12-year-old before he attempted to grope her.

He later performed a sex act while on a video call to her.

Lynch went on to sexually assault a 14-year-old girl between April and May 2015.

He pinned her to a bed and pulled down her lower clothing with “intent to rape”.

Lynch then raped the same girl while aged 15 several months later.

Lynch seized hold of her arms, pinned her to a bed, grabbed her by the hair before restraining her.

He then attempted to kiss the woman before raping her.

Another 15-year-old girl was raped in October 2019 in Dundee.

Lynch grabbed her hands and moved them towards him.

He then made his victim perform a sex act on him before raping her.

Lynch was found guilty of five sexual related charges including two rapes.

Gary Allan QC, defending, told the sentencing at the High Court in Glasgow that Lynch is “in no doubt the offences are serious”.

Judge John McCormick ordered Lynch, of Dundee, to be put under supervision for three years upon his release from prison.

He also added Lynch to the sex offenders register for an indefinite period of time.

The judge said: “I accept that this was a serious of sexual offending including rape.

“I take account that you are a young man at 23 but you have a worrying record for someone of your age.

“Because of the gravity of what you were convicted and previous criminal record a custodial sentence is appropriate.

“As you are a convicted sex offender, I need to ensure the public are protected against serious harm when you are released.”
