A probe has been launched into the death of a woman found in an Angus flat by the River South Esk.
Officers were called to a report of concern for a person at around 12.40pm on Wednesday, at a flat on River Street in Brechin.
A 35-year-old woman was pronounced dead at the scene and cause of death is currently unknown as police enquiries continue.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “We were called to River Street, Brechin at around 12.40pm on Wednesday, 27 July, 2022 following a report of concern for a person.
“A 35-year-old woman was pronounced dead at the scene.
“Enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances and a reports will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.”
