Probe after driver caught on camera ‘doing doughnuts’ at Milton of Craigie roundabout in Dundee Google Maps

An investigation is under way to find the driver of a BMW who was caught on camera “doing doughnuts” at a Dundee roundabout.

Police were informed of a grey BMW car circling the Milton of Craigie roundabout at high speeds at around 9.30pm on Friday, June 16.

A video of the incident, circulating widely on social media, attracted comments of people saying the driver was attempting to “do doughnuts” and “speed drift” at the roundabout.

The car was stolen from Auchtertool in Fife on May 29, and recovered following the incident in the Douglas area of Dundee on June 19.

Inspector Michelle Burns, Tayside Roads Policing Unit, said: “We have recently been made aware of the incident and the online footage. Enquiries are ongoing to trace the driver of the car which had been stolen but has since been recovered.

“This manner of driving is totally irresponsible and utterly dangerous.

“Thankfully on this occasion, no one was injured but had the driver lost control of the car, especially at this busy roundabout, members of the public would have been put in serious danger.”

He added that enquiries are ongoing to find the thief, however police are “keen” to identify the person who was driving it on June 16.

If you have any information about either incident, the dangerous driving or theft of the car, call police via 101 quoting reference number 4849 on Saturday, June 17.

Alternatively, Crimestoppers can be called anonymously on 0800 555 111.
