Police have issued an appeal for information after a man was knocked off a motorbike by a car in Arbroath.

The incident took place in the Angus town on Sunday.

Tayside Police said a man was knocked from a yellow motorbike by a car at the junction of Arbirlot Road West and Bloomfield Road at around 9.50pm.

The car is described as a silver Vauxhall Astra hatchback and police are appealing for anyone with information to get in contact.

No injury was reported and police confirmed they are treating the incident as a hit-and-run.

A Tayside Police statement said: “About 9.50pm, Sunday, March 27, at the junction of Arbirlot Road West/Bloomfield Road, Arbroath, a male was knocked from a yellow motorbike by a car.

“The car is described as a silver Vauxhall Astra hatchback.”
