Police launch probe into 'unexplained' death of woman at house

An investigation has been launched after a woman was found dead at a house in Aberdeenshire.

Police were called to the property at King Edward Court in MacDuff shortly before 8pm on Friday following reports of an incident at the property.

Officers cordoned off the scene following the discovery of a body.

The woman has not yet been named and police are treating the death as “unexplained”.

A report has been sent to the procurator fiscal while the probe gets under way.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 7.45 pm on Friday, October 14, police were called to an address in King Edward Court, MacDuff, where a woman was found deceased.

“Enquiries are ongoing into the cause of her death which at this time police are treating as unexplained.  A report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.”
