Police are calling for witnesses to a serious road crash on the A9 to come forward after two men were rushed to hospital in Perth.

Emergency services were called to the scene near the Broxden roundabout on Monday around 7.45am.

The collision, between a Ford Transit van and an articulated HGV, occurred on the northbound carriageway.

Paramedics attended the scene and the two men within the van were taken to Ninewells Hospital in Dundee.

Officers say the driver of the HGV was left uninjured.

The road was shut while investigations were carried out, with drivers experiencing up to 40 minute delays.

Constable David Gray of the Road Policing Unit said: “Enquiries are ongoing into the cause of this crash. I would urge any witnesses or anyone with information that may assist our enquiry to contact us.

“We are also keen to obtain any dashcam from motorists driving on the road around the time of the crash.

“Anyone with information should contact officers through 101 with reference number 0564 of December 12.”
