The teenager has been missing since Thursday morning.

Police appeal for help in tracing missing teenager John Howatt from Banff who may have travelled to Aberdeen

Police are searching for a 16-year-old boy who may have travelled to Aberdeen.

John Howatt was last seen in Banff at around 9am on Thursday, July 21.

The teenager is known to frequent Aberdeen and police have said he may be using public transport to get around.

He is described as 6’2″ tall, and of a medium build with brown hair. 

When he was last seen was wearing a black waterproof jacket, black joggers and white trainers. 

Anyone who has information on his whereabouts has been asked to contact police.

A Police Scotland spokesperson added: “Anyone who may have seen John since this time, or who has any information which could be relevant, is urged to contact Police Scotland via 101 quoting incident number 4176 of July 21.”
