Perth and Kinross foodbank finds two new locations amid pest control issues

A foodbank in Perthshire has found two new locations to operate from following a pest infestation at the official premises.

The Perth and Kinross Foodbank were forced to temporarily suspend food parcel collections from the Cutlog Vennel hub.

However, the charity has now confirmed that all donations will be stored, sorted, and packed at Giraffe Perth’s warehouse at Unit 19, Friarton Triangle, Friarton Road, Perth.

The foodbank is set to operate from the new locations for the “foreseeable future” from Wednesday, February 14.

Perth and Kinross Foodbank project manager, Lori Hughes, said: “Thanks to the generous support and collaboration of two trusted partners, Perth and Kinross Council and Giraffe, we are pleased to announce that our emergency food parcel distribution service will recommence from Wednesday February 14, supporting individuals, families, and communities across Perth and Kinross.”

“On behalf of all at Perth and Kinross Foodbank, I would like to thank everyone, referral partners and clients alike, for their patience and support this week.

“We have been touched by your kind words and offers of support. Immense gratitude must be extended to Perth and Kinross Council and Giraffe Perth who have, at short notice, come together to ensure that the impact on our community has been minimal.

“I also want to thank the staff, volunteers, and trustees, of the food bank who have worked tirelessly to ensure that emergency food provision has been quickly re-established for the people of Perth and the surrounding area.

“We look forward to welcoming clients back to Perth and Kinross Foodbank and we will continue to work hard to best support local people facing hardship.”

Parcel collection times are set to remain as 12pm to 4pm on Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday and 1.30pm until 3.30pm on Thursday’s.

Donations can be made at Pullar House, or e-mail info@perthkinrossfoodbank.org.uk to make alternate arrangements.

Cash donations can be made via the website.
