One person killed and two in hospital after serious multi-vehicle crash

A person has died following a serious multi-vehicle crash which has caused a road to close in both directions for several hours in Perth and Kinross.

Emergency services attended the scene of the collision near Dunkeld shortly after 12pm on Friday.

One person was pronounced dead at the scene and two others were taken to Ninewells Hospital in Dundee by ambulance and air ambulance.

The road remains closed in both directions and diversions have been put in place.

Drivers in the area have been told to take care and expect delays.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Police were called to a report of a two-car crash on the A9 near Dunkeld around 12.05pm on Friday, September 16, 2022.

“Emergency services attended, however, one person was pronounced dead at the scene.

“Two people were taken to Ninewells Hospital in Dundee by ambulance and air ambulance.

“The road is currently closed in both directions and diversions have been put in place.”
