A motorcyclist has been taken to hospital after a crash with a police van in Aberdeen.

Officers received reports of the incident around 2.50am on Saturday on Granitehill Road in the city.

A 35-year-old man, who was driving the motorbike, was taken to hospital for treatment to injuries.

No one else sustained injuries from the collision and investigations are continuing.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 2.50am on Saturday, April 22, 2023, police received a report of a road traffic collision involving a police van and a motorcycle on Granitehill Road, Aberdeen.

“The male motorcyclist, aged 35, has been taken to hospital.  No-one else sustained any injuries in the incident and enquiries are ongoing to establish the circumstances of the crash.”
