Man arrested after emergency crews rush another to hospital

A man has been taken to hospital after he was discovered with serious injuries on an Aberdeen street.

Emergency crews were called to John Street at the junction with George Street in the city centre shortly before 9am on Saturday morning after the man was spotted by passers-by.

He was later taken for further treatment at a local medical facility.

A 26-year-old man has since been arrested in connection with the incident, however police said a full investigation was now under way.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 8.55am on Saturday, December 17, we received a report of a man being found injured on John Street, at the junction with George Street.

“A 27-year-old man was taken to hospital for treatment.

“A 26-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the incident and enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances.”
