Police are appealing for information into an alleged armed robbery in Dundee.

The incident took place in the city’s Hilltown area at around 1.20pm on Sunday.

A man was sitting on a bench opposite the local Spar shop when he was approached and allegedly threatened at knife-point before being robbed.

Two men, aged 35 and 31, have been arrested in connection with the incident and released pending further investogations.

Constable Mark Stewart, of Tayside Division’s Community Investigation Unit, said: “Thankfully nobody was injured in the incident but this was a frightening experience for the victim.

“Anyone who witnessed the robbery or who was in the area around the time of the incident is urged to contact police as soon as they can.”
