Man pronounced dead in Dundee single-vehicle crash on Lochee Road as road closed for hours

A man has died following a road crash in Dundee on Sunday afternoon.

Police were called to a crash around 3.30pm involving a black Vauxhall Astra 2010 on Lochee Road, close to the junction with Rankine Street.

Emergency services attended and a 51-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene. No one else was injured as a result of the crash.

The road was closed for crash scene investigation work to be carried out and re-opened around 5.30pm later that day.

Sergeant Gordon Dickson said: “I am appealing for anyone with information regarding this incident who has not already contacted police to get in touch.

“In particular I would ask any motorists with dash-cam footage to check it to see if they may have information that could assist in our investigation.”

Anyone with information is asked to call Police Scotland via 101, quoting incident number 2224 of Sunday, November 6, 2022.
