A man has been taken to hospital following a two-vehicle collision, two days after a a 17-vehicle crash near the site.

Emergency crews were called to the scene on the A92 near Bridge of Muchalls at around 12pm on Sunday, March 26.

A 44-year-old man was taken to hospital by ambulance. His condition is currently unknown.

The road was closed for around two hours, reopening at 2.10pm.

It comes shortly after a major crash involving 17 vehicles in almost exactly the same location, which left four people in hospital on Friday.

Seven ambulances, three specialist teams and fire crews were sent to the scene on the southbound carriageway at Walker Drive in Muchalls, Newtonhill.

The road was closed for several hours as the vehicles involved were recovered, and was eventually reopened at around 7pm.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “We were made aware of a crash involving two vehicles on the A92 near to Bridge of Muchalls around 12pm on Sunday, March 26.

“Emergency services attended and a 44-year-old man was taken by ambulance to hospital.

“The road was reopened around 2.10pm.”
