Man dies as fire service extinguish blaze at house

A man has died after a fire at a house in Aberdeenshire.

Emergency services attended the blaze at a property in Summers Road in Rosehearty, shortly after 8.45am on Monday.

A 54-year-old man was removed from the address but was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service extinguished the blaze and a joint investigation will be carried out to establish its circumstances.

The man’s next of kind have been informed.

Detective inspector Sam Buchan said: “My thoughts are with the man’s family at this very sad time.

“A report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal in due course.”
