A man has died following a crash between a bus and a car in Dundee on Thursday.

Officers were called to reports of the crash, which involved a Citylink bus and a red Alfa Romeo car, on Riverside Drive at around 4.30pm on April 27.

A 35-year-old man, the driver of the car, was taken to the Ninewells Hospital but was pronounced dead a short time later.

There were no other serious injuries reported.

Police are asking for any eyewitnesses who may have seen the crash happen to come forward.

They are also looking to trace any drivers who may have seen the red Alfa Romeo travelling from the Tay Road Bridge before the crash.

A spokesperson for Scottish Citylink said: “I can confirm that one of our coaches operating the M92 Aberdeen to Edinburgh service was involved in a collision with a car in Dundee.

“Our first priority and thoughts are with those involved in this incident, and their friends and family.

“We are working with the emergency services to provide every assistance possible, and we will offer our continuing support in the days ahead.”

Sergeant Gordon Dickson said: “Our thoughts are with the family and friends of the man who died.

“Our enquiries are ongoing and we are appealing for anyone who was in the area and who witnessed the crash to get in touch.”
