Man charged after 'early morning break in and assault' at M&S Foodhall

A man has been charged after a break in and serious assault at a Dundee Marks & Spencer Foodhall shop in the early hours of Wednesday morning.

At around 4am on October 12, police were called to a report of a break in and serious assault at the shop in the city’s Gallagher Retail Park.

A 46-year-old man was taken by ambulance to Ninewells Hospital while a 40-year-old man was arrested and charged in connection with the incident.

He is due to appear at Dundee Sheriff Court on Thursday, October 13.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 4am on Wednesday, October 12, 2022, officers were called to a report of a break-in and serious assault at a shop in Gallagher Retail Park, Dundee.

“Emergency services attended and a 46-year-old man was taken by ambulance to Ninewells Hospital in Dundee.

“A 40-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with the incident. He is due to appear at Dundee Sheriff Court on Thursday, October 13, 2022.”
