A 20-year-old man has been charged in connection with a disturbance involving football fans in Aberdeen.

Video footage posted on social media appeared to show Aberdeen and Hibs fans fighting on the city’s Union Street ahead of Saturday’s Premiership match at Pittodrie.

Police Scotland said they were aware of the footage and had made one arrest in connection with the incident.

Inspector Stuart Fisher said: “Police were quickly on the scene and a 20-year-old man was arrested and charged in connection with this incident.

“Officers are continuing to carry out enquiries to identify and trace others involved in this disturbance.”
