Hunt for men after victim suffers head injury in attack near newsagents

A hunt for two men has been launched after a man was seriously injured in an assault in Perth.

The 36-year-old man was assaulted near a newsagents in County Place, Perth around 6pm on November 4, 2023.

Police enquiries found that the victim was approached by two men which caused him to fall to the ground where he sustained a head injury.

The man was taken by ambulance to Perth Royal Infirmary where he was treated and has since been discharged.

Police have now launched an appeal for information from anyone in the area, adding that the suspects ran from the scene in the direction of the local library.

The first suspect is described as white and in his late 30s, around 6ft tall and was wearing a black jacket, white/light grey tracksuit bottoms and white trainers. He was also carrying a red plastic shopping bag.

The second man is described as white, 5ft 8in and was wearing a black baseball cap, black tracksuit bottoms, a dark top with a white logo and white trainers.

Constable Julie Hoskins, Perth Police Station, said: “Officers have been checking CCTV and making local enquiries since the incident was reported to police but would appeal to anyone who was in the area at the time and saw the attack or the men described to come forward.

“Information can be passed to police via 101 quoting incident number 2920 of Saturday, November 4, 2023. Alternatively, details can be given anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
