Three motorbikes and a mountain bike have been stolen by thieves who broke into a house near Coupar Angus on Christmas Eve.

The bikes, three Yamaha off-road motorbikes, two YZ250s and a YZ125, and red Santa Cruz High Tower mountain bike, were all at a property between the Meiklour crossroads and Bendochy when they were stolen at sometime before 6am on Friday.

At least one of the bikes may have been taken away over nearby fields.

Police are now looking to trace those responsible and have issued an appeal to the public.

Officers investigating the incident have asked anyone who has been offered a bike matching any of the descriptions to contact them as soon as possible.

A spokesman for the force said: “If you have any information that could assist us, particularly if you have been offered these bikes for sale or have knowledge of their whereabouts, please call 101 or speak to any police officer.”
