A cyclist has been killed in a crash in Angus.

Tansy Lee, 61, a former Royal Marine from Auchmithie near Arbroath, was pronounced dead at the scene on Friday morning.

Police had been called at 7.30am to the incident outside the Auchmithie School House.

The road remains closed while officers investigate but no other vehicle is believed to be involved.

Sergeant William Strachan, of the Dundee road policing unit, said: “Our thoughts remain with Mr Lee’s family at this sad time.

“Inquiries into the exact circumstances are ongoing, however, we are not looking for any additional vehicles or individuals in connection with the incident.

“A report will be submitted to the procurator fiscal.”
