Fisherman flown to hospital after going overboard in North Sea

The man was taken to Shetland after the alarm was raised 93 miles off the coast of Fraserburgh on Sunday.

A fisherman has been flown to hospital after going overboard in the North Sea nearly 100 miles from Aberdeenshire.

The alarm was raised after the crewman got into difficulty in the water 93 miles east of Fraserburgh on Sunday afternoon.

After being helped back aboard the vessel by his crew, the fisherman was flown to Lerwick, Shetland, by the Sumburgh-based Coastguard helicopter.

He was then taken to Gilbert Bain Hospital.

His current condition is unknown.
