Firefighters are tackling a blaze that is affecting waste products at a recycling centre in Aberdeen.

Four fire engines and a water carrier were deployed to Wellington Road in the Nigg area of the city after the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service (SFRS) received an alert in the early hours of Monday morning.

No injuries have been reported.

A spokesperson for the SFRS said: “We were alerted at 2.11am on Monday, February 14 to reports of a fire in the open at Wellington Road, Nigg, Aberdeen.

“Operations Control mobilised four fire appliances and one water carrier to the scene where a fire is affecting waste products at a recycling centre.

“There are no reported casualties at this time and crews are currently still at the scene.”

Wellington Road is closed between the roundabout at Old Stonehaven Road and the roundabout at Gateway Drive.

Police Scotland said there is currently no access to any premises in the area affected by the fire.
