Fire crews tackle blaze at derelict building in industrial estate

Emergency services were called shortly before 3am on Thursday morning.

Firefighters have been tackling a blaze at a Dundee industrial estate which broke out in the early hours of Thursday morning.

Emergency services were called at 2.50am on August 17 to a fire that ripped through a derelict building at a junction on Nobel Road and Arrol Road in West Gourdie Industrial Estate.

Appliances from Blackness, Kingsway and Macalpine Road fire stations were called to the scene.

The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service (SFRS) have said that the fire is “under control” and that crews were working to extinguish the blaze.

There have been no injuries reported.

A spokesperson for the service’s Dundee control room said: “We got the initial call at 2.50am this morning following a report of a fire at a derelict building.

“There are no injuries reported.”
