Fire crews remain at scene of blaze at Christmas tree farm

Emergency service were called to the scene just after 7pm on Saturday with fire crews continuing to keep the area safe on Sunday morning.

Fire crews remain at the scene of a blaze at a Christmas tree farm in Dundee.

The flames broke out at Tayside Forestry on Templeton Road.

The Scottish Fire and Rescure Service (SFRS) were called out at 7.11pm on Saturday.

Templeton Road was closed by emergency services while the fire was attended to.

Residents in the villages of Muirhead and Birkhill were asked to keep windows and doors closed to avoid smoke inhalation.

Initially six appliances were sent to the scene but this was later scaled back to two appliances which remain on the scene on Sunday.

Firefighters are monitoring the area to ensure flames to not re-ignite

There were no reports of any injuries in the incident.
