An 80-year-old man who died after a crash on the A90 near Stonehaven has been named by police.
The family of Eric Douglas have paid tribute to the “loving father, grandfather and friend” after his death.
Mr Douglas, from Stonehaven, was the sole driver of a white Kia Rio, which was involved in a crash on the A90 near Lumgair, around 5pm on Friday.
His family have said in a statement: “Eric was a loving father, grandfather and friend to many who was well known in the local community.
“We are deeply saddened by his death and he will be greatly missed.
“As a family we respectfully ask for privacy at this difficult time.”
Enquiries are ongoing into the crash and police have appealed for anyone with information to contact them on 101.
