The family of a pensioner who has been missing for eight months have been informed of the discovery of a body at a Perth beauty spot.
At around 1pm on Friday, February 3, emergency services were called to the Kinnoull area of Perth following the discovery of a body.
Police said that while formal identification has not yet taken place, the family of 75-year-old John Baikie have been informed.
The pensioner, who is said to have lived a ‘solitary lifestyle’ was reported missing in May 2022 and was last seen on CCTV on February 8, 2022.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 1pm on Friday, February 3, 2023, police were called to the Kinnoull Hill area of Perth, following the discovery of a body.
“There are not believed to be any suspicious circumstances.
“Formal identification has yet to take place, but the family of John Baikie, who was reported missing in May 2022, have been informed.”
