A 41-year-old man and a 34-year-old woman were arrested and charged on Thursday in connection with fraud.

A couple who allegedly racked up £600 worth of unpaid restaurant bills across Tayside have been charged in connection with fraud.

Police arrested the man and woman after restaurants in Perth, Arbroath and Dundee were hit by a series of dine and dash incidents throughout the month of July.

The 41-year-old man and 34-year-old woman were charged on Thursday, July 25, after allegedly failing to pay for their meal at a restaurant in Arbroath.

Officers said they will both be reported to the Procurator Fiscal.
