Cyclist robbed of bike after being forced from road and down embankment by driver

Police have appealed for witnesses after a cyclist was robbed after falling down an embankment.

Police are investigating the theft of a bike from a cyclist who had fallen down an embankment in Aberdeenshire.

The cyclist fell from their bike and down an embankment following a careless driving incident by a passing car on the B979, Netherley to Maryculter Road, near to the Lairhillock junction, around 8.45pm on May 19.

Their distinctive Celestial Blue Bianchi Aria bike was then stolen by a driver in a light grey or silver estate-style car.

Police are appealing for anyone with information to come forward.

Information can be passed to police on 101, quoting incident 1172 of May 20, 2024. Alternatively, you can call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111, if you wish to remain anonymous.
