Bus driver injured after rock thrown through window

A large stone was thrown through the window of a moving bus causing injuries to the driver.

A bus driver has been left injured after a rock was thrown at his windscreen as he was driving passengers through Broughty Ferry.

The large stone smashed through the window of the moving bus which showered the driver in glass and left him with minor injuries.

Police say it is lucky that no one on the bus was seriously injured the “reckless” incident that took place on Monifieth Road near Orchar Park just before 10pm on Monday.

Officers are now appealing for witnesses as they look to trace those responsible.

Sergeant Chris Grieve said: “This was a reckless act which could have had far more serious consequences.

“I would urge anyone with information or who may have witnessed the incident to let us know.
