An appeal has been launched after a man was found seriously injured on a path in Dundee city centre.

The 45-year-old was seen lying on a path with head and facial injuries between West Marketgait and Yeaman Shore by a member of the public at around 8am on Thursday.

Emergency services were called and the man was taken to hospital where medical staff have described his injuries as serious but stable.

Police officers investigating the incident are keen to speak to a man that could assist with the investigation.

He is described as aged in his mid-40s and of average build and he may have been wearing a blue Scotland football shirt, jeans, and trainers.

Detective sergeant Craig Kelly, said: “We need to establish what happened to this man and I am asking anyone who was in the area and saw anything to get in touch.

“We believe the man described can help so I am asking him to call us. In addition, anyone who was driving in the area and has dash-cam that could help should also get in touch along with anyone with private CCTV.

“If you can help please contact Police Scotland on 101, quoting incident number 0831 of Thursday, June 2, 2022.”
