Loganair will begin flying a route from Dundee to London City Airport next month.
The airline announced the service, which replaces a previous route to Stansted, will commence on July 6.
It will also begin a flight from Dundee to Belfast City Airport in September.
The service to London City will see six flights a week, before stepping up to twice daily in August, while the Belfast City route will run twice a week.
Loganair chief commercial officer Kay Ryan said: “Today’s announcement of an enhanced London service and a new Belfast link will provide a very significant boost for Dundee Airport, and we’re delighted to be building on Loganair’s long-standing presence at the airport with these exciting developments.”
Councillor Alan Ross, Dundee City Council city development committee convener, said: “This move signals not only confidence in the resumption of aviation services in the country as a whole, but specifically an endorsement of Dundee as a key part of the company’s plans coming out of lockdown.
“Travellers will be able to get from the heart of the UK’s capital for business or pleasure to Dundee in a straightforward, hassle-free way and from September will be able to enjoy a similar opportunity flying from another up and coming tourist destination in Belfast.”
