Boat engines have been stolen in a spate of thefts at a harbour in Aberdeenshire.

Several vessels have been targeted in the raids on Sandhaven Harbour, near Fraserburgh, earlier this week.

In each instance, the engines were removed from the craft but the rest of the boat remained undamaged.

Police say they are investigating and have urged anyone with information to come forward and share it with officers.

A spokesperson said: “Police have received reports of a number of boat engines being stolen from Sandhaven Harbour, between Friday, September 15 and Saturday, September 16.

“Enquiries remain ongoing.”
