A Scots dad has died along with two of his friends in Texas after an allegedly drunk driver crashed into his golf buggy.
Fraser Anderson, originally from Aberdeen, was killed after he was struck by a black Escalade SUV on Sunday in the Cypress area of the US state just before 3am.
The 37-year-old, who lived in the US with his wife and two children, was pronounced dead at the scene alongside 37-year-old Jacob Wnuk.
A third friend, 41-year-old Christopher Standridge, was taken to hospital but later died.
Harris Country Sheriff Ed Gonzalez described the crash as “devastating”.
American media reports that 21-year-old Daniel Rivera has been charged with three counts of murder. His bail has been set at £600,000.
He was allegedly driving the vehicle drunk, with his blood alcohol level reportedly much higher than the legal limit.
US news outlets also report that he had two passengers, including an eight-year-old girl who was said to be unharmed.
The Standridge family have now filed a $1m lawsuit against Rivera.
Neighbours of the Anderson family have set up a GoFundMe to help his relatives travel from Scotland to America to attend his funeral.
“Please help Gillian and her family in this difficult time,” friend Jennifer Nickel said.
“Proceeds will go towards travel costs as family arrives from Scotland to say their goodbyes, and to help Gillian and her two small children in the coming weeks.
“Fraser’s boisterous personality will be deeply missed by everyone who met him.
“He loved golf, pickleball and most of all, his wife and kids.
“He was a family man and loved to play soccer with his son and the neighbourhood kids.
“A kid at heart, he will always be remembered as everyone’s ‘Uncle Fraser’.
“We are deeply saddened by this sudden loss in our community. Please show your support and help Gillian with this transition.”

The Imagine Early Education and Childcare centre, which Mr Anderson’s children attend, paid tribute to the ex-pat.
In a statement, they said: “Our hearts are heavy as we grieve the tragic incident that happened this weekend in the Towne Lake community.
“Our deepest condolences go out to the families of everyone involved and we ask that you join us in praying for the many lives these individuals impacted.
“On behalf of the Anderson family, who attend Imagine, we are so grateful for the outpouring of support and condolences.
“Your genuine sympathy, heartfelt words, and outreach have been a source of comfort during this very challenging period.”
