The A90 is blocked in both directions north of Dundee amid reports of fallen power cables.
Traffic Scotland confirmed the road was blocked around 7pm on Sunday.
Drivers have been warned to take care as conditions in the area remain “tricky”.
Emergency Services are said to be en-route to investigate the situation.
Police Scotland has been contacted for comment.
This comes after the Met Office issued an amber weather warning as conditions turned increasingly windy on Sunday.
The alert came into place at 6pm on Sunday evening and will last until 6am on Monday.
Gusts reaching 65-75mph are expected widely, and even 80-85mph gusts over parts of west and northern Scotland.
The agency said there is a chance that injuries and “danger to life” could occur from flying debris.
