Four people including a child have been rescued from a ground-floor flat blaze in Aberdeen.

The emergency services were called to the fire on the city’s Blenheim Place at 6.50pm on Sunday.

More than 25 firefighers, along with five fire engines and a height appliance, were sent to the blaze.

One man was rescued from the flat where the fire began and another was rescued by ladder from the floor above. A woman and a child were led from the building by firefighters.

Four people were taken to hospital to be treated for smoke inhalation but nobody was seriously harmed.

A spokeswoman for the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service said: “The fire was in terraced dwelling three floors on the ground floor

“We used six sets of breathing apparatus and three hose reel jets. There were a number of people led out of the property by fire fighters.

“We received a stop-call from the crews at 7.29pm.”
