A ten-year-old boy has been taken to hospital after being knocked down by a car.

The incident happened on Donbank Terrace in Aberdeen at around 8.20am on Monday.

The boy was taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary by ambulance with a serious leg injury.

A Police Scotland spokeswoman said: "We were alerted to the incident at 8.25am.

"It was a collision between a car and a child on Donbank Terrace in Aberdeen.

"The child was taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary by ambulance. The road is clear."

A spokeswoman for the Scottish Ambulance Service said: "A ten-year-old male child was taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary with a serious leg injury."
