A woman who died following a two-car crash in the Highlands has been named.

Melina Rosa Päprer, from Germany, was a front-seat passenger in the Blue Citreon C3 when it was involved in a collision with a Honda CRV on the A82 near Borlum Farm, Drumnadrochit.

The 24-year-old was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash that took place at around 3.15pm on Monday and left two others injured.

A 27-year-old man and a 56-year-old woman were both taken to Raigmore Hospital in Inverness where they remain.

Medical staff describe the man, who was driving the Citreon, as being seriously injured but stable and the woman, who was driving the Honda, as stable.

Officers are still appealing for any witnesses to the crash and have asked anyone with any information or dash-cam footage regarding the incident to come forward.
