Two teenagers have been reported after a schoolboy was left in hospital after a pyrotechnic was hurled from a football stand in Inverness.

The incident occurred during Caley’s 1-0 defeat to Dundee United in the Scottish Championship on Friday, January 12 at the Caledonian Stadium.

A 13-year-old boy suffered minor injuries and required hospital treatment after the pyro device was lit and thrown in the North Stand of the stadium at around 8:50pm.

Police confirmed that two teens, aged 14 and 15, will be reported to the Children’s Reporter in connection with possession of a pyrotechnic in a football ground, and culpable and reckless conduct.

Officers said that pyrotechnics were extremely dangerous and posed a serious risk of harm.
