Three headteacher roles in Shetland have opened up for recruitment at the same time, including at the Anderson High School in Lerwick.
The other two headteacher posts are for Sandwick Junior High and the Lunnasting Primary School.
The post at the Anderson – Shetland’s largest school – has become vacant as current head Valerie Nicolson prepares to retire after two decades at the helm.
It comes with a salary of around £90,000.
In August 2022, more than 1,000 pupils were enrolled at the Anderson, including all of those in S5 and S6 in Shetland who do not attend Brae High School.
Over in Sandwick, the headteacher job has a salary of more than £70,000.
It comes after mixed inspection reports which ultimately saw Shetland Islands Council put early years manager Sam Flaws in the top job at the school on a temporary basis.
But the school, with a roll of 250 pupils between early years and S4, is now recruiting permanently.
The Lunnasting Primary School vacancy meanwhile comes with a salary of more than £56,000.
The school, in Vidlin, has 28 pupils in the primary department and 12 in the nursery.
