Mountain rescue teams carried out a ten-hour search and rescue operation in the Cairngorms to get a stricken walker to safety in blizzard conditions.
Cairngorm and Braemar mountain rescue teams were called out at around 5.50pm on Saturday night after a walker became lost on the Cairngorm plateau.
Police were able to locate the man on the north side of Ben MacDui by getting a location on their phone, but a coastguard rescue helicopter was unable to attend as it was hampered by foggy and blizzard-like conditions.
The walker was located at 11.30pm on Saturday night and after warming up was able to walk back off the hill.
The teams and the rescue arrived back at base at 3.30am on Sunday morning.
Images and videos posted by rescuers showed the teams working through the night amid heavy snowfall and winds.
