American actor Chris Pine was spotted sampling the local delights while visiting the Isle of Bute.

The star, best known for his role as Captain James T Kirk in the Star Trek rebooted film series, touched down in Scotland on Sunday.

Isle of Bute Coffee Company shared a photo with Pine on his visit to the cafe, stating that its brew had his stamp of approval.

“Bute Coffee is Chris Pine approved,” the cafe wrote in an Instagram post, “Had the pleasure of caffeinating and getting to chat to him and his pals while they visited Bute (and of course had to ask for a pic too) Hope he enjoyed Bute; we enjoyed having him!”

The 42-year-old’s last visit to the country was in 2018 while filming Outlaw King – a Netflix biopic based on the life of Robert the Bruce.

Pine, who played Bruce, revealed on The Graham Norton Show that year how he continued to use the accent he learned for the role after filming each day.
